Washington, D.C., September 3, 2013 / PRNewswire – Kelly Kincannon, Founder and Chairman of Kincannon & Reed, has announced that effective 1 September, 2013, he has left the firm to pursue professional interests outside executive search.
Mr. Kincannon started Kincannon & Reed in June of 1981 on the third floor of his home in St. Louis. In 1986 he moved the practice to metropolitan Washington, D.C. During the last thirty-two years, Kelly recruited leaders in the food, agribusiness, and life sciences sectors across a broad spectrum of public, private, and cooperative structured companies, as well as industry associations and other non-profit organizations. In 2007 Mr. Kincannon sold the firm to the current management team. Since that time, revenue has nearly tripled and the firm has become truly global in scope while retaining Mr. Kincannon’s original industry focus.
Mr. Kincannon commented, “I am grateful to all our clients who believe in the unique value Kincannon & Reed offers them. I am grateful to my colleagues who do excellent work on our clients’ behalf; recruiting the leaders who not only impact their organizations, but also help feed the world and keep it healthy. I am confident Kincannon & Reed will continue to grow as the global leader in our practice sectors.”
Greg Duerksen, President of Kincannon & Reed, noted, “Kelly’s singular vision and insatiable drive created what remains the only global retained executive search firm focused on the interrelated realms of food, agribusiness, and life sciences. His wisdom and judgment will be missed. We wish Kelly and his family the best of health and happiness.”
